Some good zombie free places are where they cant reach or climp up.
For example: A treehouse.
For other safe places, you will have to clear out the zombies or build a blockway to make sure that they dont get in.
For example: A walmart,house,prison,school.
If I was you, Id make my safe house at a prison because it has all the fences and most likely guns or other weapons in there.
